Flu-time

Reading through my last post it actually sounded like I was really busy and had a lot on my mind. That was also true, but it all slowed down quite a bit after I caught the flu last Saturday morning. And please – no funny emails to me about birds flu or SARS! I’m up again, but had to cancel my China trip that was suposed to last all of last week. Instead I have had time to get the last couple of boxes unpacked (I finally found my toolbox with my battery drill !) Now I’m only missing some hangers in the bath rooms and getting some pictures up on the walls (thats why I mentioned the battery drill).
The Danish Seamans Church also celebrated Midsummers Day (Skt. Hans) last Friday. I went along and had a very nice evening with barbecue, fire and of course the witch-burning. I met a Danish couple who just recently moved to Singapore as well. I guess we’ll go out for dinner/beers some evening…
The World Cup has also been a major part of daily live the last couple of weeks. The singaporeans are big-time football fanatics and seem to discuss nothing else these weeks. Thats also why I’m pretty happy NOT taking a taxi ride too much these weeks as taxi drivers always have to ask why Denmark is not joining the World Cup (hmmm!!). But its some very long nights at the moment since the games start at 11pm and 3am Singapore time. You can imagine how “dead” I look in the morning after watching games for the last week!
Apart from the quarter-finals this weekend, I think I’ll spend some time shopping. I’ve found a tailor that makes shirts for approx. DKK250, which is worth investigating.
