On Friday we went to a play by Shakespeare called A midsummer night’s dream. The play was performed outdoors with the audience (us!) sitting both inside, around and outside of the stage. A quite different but very fun experience. We made a picnic out the event and brought along a nice selection of shrimp salads and homemade bread with basil, cheese, tomatoes and eggs. All in all a very nice evening.

A danish couple we know here in Singapore had a son a few weeks back. Today was his big day where he got christened. Unfortunately the Danish pastor was in Denmark, but luckily the Norwegian pastor agreed to do the Christening. The grandparents of the small boy also participated and it looked as if they all had a very nice (although different) time. compared to a Christening in Denmark.

Ohh – I almost forgot – he was named “Niclas”

At Batam my father and I also had a chance to visit a very nice golf club and do 18 holes. Since none of us are pro’s (yet ) the course was quite demanding, but it was a magnificent view and with a tie off at 7am we had the whole course for ourselves

The Batam view beach resort was quite different from the Turi Beach Resort we stayed at in February. A bit more worn down and lacking on service. However given that we were there during weekdays we actually had the whole beach for ourselves! This sounds great (and it was!) but it takes some time getting used to considering that we came from Singapore with a population density of 6369 pr km2 (to compare – Denmark has a population density of 120 pr km2). Nonetheless – it was very relaxing.
My father and I went into downtown Batam where we did a bit of shopping for snacks, beers and all the other goods needed for evenings with a game of dices or cards.

I got a small reminder from a family member that my blog had been quite dead for a long period of time. The positive side of that comment is of course that someone actually reads my blog
The negative is that I have absolute no idea what happened to the month of April! Yes, I was on holiday at Batam (pictures coming soon), but apart from that I guess it has all been work related. Hmm- I’ll have to go through my calender and see if anything worth reporting has slipped through my “blog-filter”…….
